• In response to the sudden and drastic reduction in activity/revenue in the hospitality industry, EatClub has responded by launching a gift card & donation initiative.
• Customers will be able to purchase discounted gift cards to spend at venues & donate directly to venues’ bank accounts.
• Venues receive an immediate cash flow injection to assist them in getting through the COVID-19 crisis.
• EatClub has hundreds of thousands of members in four cities who have the opportunity to help keep their favourite restaurants open.

How will it work?

From the 25th of March 2020 EatClub users will be able to purchase the gift cards and/or make a donation to restaurants directly through the EatClub app. Gift cards will be valid until December 31st, 2020. Users can find all participating restaurants, by typing "savehospo" into the app's search bar.

Commentary

“The hospitality industry is facing challenges like never before. These aren’t businesses that can simply ask their staff to work from home. If we don’t come up with a solution, many venues will close and staff will lose their jobs. Even when the situation improves it will be a very hard road back for these businesses if they have had to close.

If we can use our technology to encourage our hundreds of thousands of EatClub members to band together and help their favourite venues through the COVID-19 crisis, then that’s what we will do.”

EatClub is a world-first, dynamic pricing platform that lets restaurants alter their prices during the day, based on demand.

Built under the guidance of famed restaurateur Marco Pierre White, EatClub allows restaurants to fill empty tables during off-peak or slower periods via dynamic pricing.
